Why use safety gate switches?

Electro-mechanical safety gate switches are the ‘bread-and-butter’ devices for interlocking moveable guards on dangerous machinery and hazardous processes. These types of switches are mounted on the guard door and are actuated by a mechanical mating piece that is common referred to as an ‘actuator.’ These switches monitor the position of a guard door, in conjunction with a safety control system, by preventing access into the guarded area until all hazardous machine movements have ceased operation.

BM/BMS Standalone Bolt Module

The BM: Mechanical Bolt Module is a standalone unit that is typically used for mechanical interlocking electrical disconnect switches, circuit breakers, penumatic valves etc. The BMS is the stainless steel version of the mechanical bolt module for use in extreme environments or hygenic applications. 

The standard operation of the unit requires a user to turn and remove the key in order to extend the bolt but the unit can be modified based upon your application requirements.
