This sensor offers new ways of using reflective photoelectric sensors as it's industry-first sensing technology can reliably detect targets, regardless of their colour, shape, or material. This sensor reaches high-sampling at 10,000 times per second and Omron's unique accumulation processing increases sensitivity by amplifying the slightest amount of light bounced off the target. It also remains highly resistant against ambient illumination up to 20,000 lx, preventing malfunctions caused by camera lights or sunlight.
Its CMOS sensing with built-in lens alignment technology minimises the influence of material properties as the reciever lens position is automatically adjusted to the micrometer level to decrease the recieved light spot. Therefore, the E3AS-HL is the perfect choice for detecting curved and irregular shaped glossy automotive parts, as well as multi-colored and glossy food products and associated packaging.

Simply hold the teach button located at the top of the E3AS-HL sensor to automatically set the threshold level for workpieces within a specified range. In fact, threshold levels on near and far sides of the workpiece can be set simultaneously.
An orientable OLED display makes it easy for operators to quickly view the threshold level and detection values on the same screen, further simplifying the threshold level setting procedure. Moreover, wide viewing angle and display inverting makes it easier for on-site workers to view the display at a glance.
With IO-Link, you can reduce commissioning time even further as setting information can be batch-written to thousands of sensors on a production line using the IO-Link device configuration tool. Now you can effectively cut troubleshooting time down and avoid the issue of inconsistent sensor settings.

To boost its performance in harsh environment conditions, the E3AS-HL's antifouling coating on the surface of the sensor prevents liquid droplets and dust from sticking to the sensing surface, keeping the lens from fogging as well as reducing false detections that typically wreak havoc for conventional photoelectric sensors.
